Kitchen refresh or full renovation? Define the scope
A shared description makes quotes easier to compare.
Define what stays
A refresh may retain cabinet carcasses while changing doors or worktops. Check condition, measurements, hinge compatibility and how appliances, sink or hob connections will be handled. Keeping the layout does not automatically eliminate plumbing or electrical work.
List what changes
A full renovation may include new units, relocated services, flooring, plastering and decorating. Record exact products and quantities, plus installation and finishing responsibilities.
Identify allowances
Ask which items remain unselected and how their price will change. Agree who checks customer-supplied products, what happens if they arrive late and who approves substitutions.
