Who is responsible

Information used to supply your purchase

We store the job answers you submit, selected product, order reference, security details, payment reference, payment status, consent record, date and a broad source category such as Google or direct. We use this to perform our contract, provide access and handle purchase enquiries. Town is optional; a full property address is not required at checkout.

Payments

Stripe processes payment information and collects details such as the checkout email. We do not store full card numbers. Stripe and our hosting provider process information needed to deliver the service. Stripe may process information internationally under its published safeguards; see Stripe’s privacy policy.

Completed agreement details

Complete your agreement in your downloaded PDF using compatible software or on paper. Information entered into that file is not uploaded to us. The consumer PDF is assembled on your device from your purchased document content and checkout answers. Keep downloaded files private, particularly on shared devices.

Cookies and measurement

A necessary session cookie supports checkout security and form continuity. We do not set advertising cookies or a persistent analytics visitor identifier. We keep daily aggregate counts of page views, product clicks and checkout starts, grouped by page and broad source. These are counts, not unique visitors, and can include repeated visits or automated traffic. We do not store full referral URLs, browsing profiles or user-agent strings in these counts.

How long we keep information

• Job answers: scheduled for removal 90 days after payment, allowing time to resolve document or purchase queries.
• Website purchase records: scheduled for removal 12 months after payment. These include your order reference, checkout email, payment and consent details and, for trade purchases, the licensed business name. We use them for purchase support, refunds, payment disputes and licence queries.
• Uncompleted orders: scheduled for removal after 30 days.
• Summary website-usage counts: kept for up to 90 days.

Removal is carried out during regular retention checks. If a complaint, payment dispute or legal requirement needs particular records for longer, we retain only the relevant information and review the need when that matter is resolved. Payment records held by Stripe and separately held accounting records follow their applicable legal retention requirements; these are separate from the website records above.

Downloaded PDFs remain on your device until you delete them. Details you enter into a downloaded PDF are not sent to us. To remove previously saved website data from your device, clear this site’s stored data in your browser settings.

Requesting deletion

Email support@protectmyquote.co.uk with your order reference, if available, and say what you want deleted. Do not send card details. We may need to confirm your identity. If information must be retained for an active dispute or legal obligation, we will explain what we retain and why. Your rights are explained below.

Other purposes and safeguards

We use necessary security and aggregate operational information for our legitimate interests in running a reliable service. We do not sell your information to installers or use purchase details for unsolicited marketing. Downloads require the purchasing browser session. An order reference or copied page link alone does not grant access. Keep your downloaded documents securely.

Your rights

You can contact us about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability where applicable. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We may need to verify your purchase or identity before disclosing information.
